therapeutic yoga

For thousands of years, yoga has flourished as a holistic health system, tracing its roots to the spiritual and philosophical traditions of ancient India. This enduring practice weaves together physical postures, controlled breathing, meditation, and deep philosophy, offering its own path to well-being and self-discovery.

Emma is a registered Level 1 Teacher with Yoga Australia, completing her first certification in 2006. Since then she has undertaken additional training and certifications in Traditional Style Hatha Yoga, Ashtanga & Vinyasa Yoga, Trauma-Sensitive Yoga, iRest Yoga Nidra, Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga and her personal favourite, Psychotherapeutic Yoga Therapy.

Over the past decade Emma has been offering individual and closed-group yoga sessions specifically aimed at improving one’s mental and emotional health.

Anyone and everyone can benefit from yoga. Mental or emotional concerns are not a pre-requisite to participate. It is also worth noting though, that our yoga classes are not a substitute for psychological support, psychotherapy or medical treatment. We encourage individuals with mental and emotional concerns to work in collaboration with a qualified mental health professional.

What you can expect from an individual therapeutic yoga session:

  • initial comprehensive assessment

  • sessions tailored to you, your unique concerns, needs, wants, abilities & goals

  • option to participate online or in person

  • dedicated 50 minute sessions, with the option of this being all yoga or including some ‘talk time’ before or after

  • the option of sessions being recorded for your future use (deleted on our end)

  • attempts to honor the ancient origins of Yoga while adhering to evidence-based protocols
